MANAGEMENT

Jennifer V Baum

Prior to her owning and operating Peridot Productions, Jennifer V Baum, Founder and Managing Director, was a Senior Account Manager responsible for overseeing numerous teams of graphic designers, production artists and writers at Oak Hill Corporation, The Canterbury Group, and Chroma Copy Imaging, and the Traffic Coordinator in Ernst & Young’s Creative Department. She has also worked as a print broker and a color darkroom printer.

Jenn earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Jenn brings more than ten years of experience managing diverse marketing projects for clients both large and small and across a wide range of industries. She offers deep knowledge of trade show, and print and online marketing communications management as well as expertise on design and production process from her photographic training. Her real strength lies in her vast network and her ability to tap the right person for the right project.

Jenn is on the Board of Directors of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) San Francisco Chapter, the Panel Coordinator for SFWOW (San Francisco Women on the Web), a member of WIC (Women in Consulting), eWomen, BNI Oakland City Center, a member of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and PERIDOT is her birth stone.

Catherine, our Art Director, has almost 20 years of design experience in print, web, photography and film and her work has won several awards over the years. She attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City and completed her degree in Photography at Arizona State University. She also has a degree in Marketing, which she completed at University of California Santa Cruz. In her spare time she surfs, skies and spends time on the beach with her canine best friend Spec.

Leslie, our Graphic Designer, creates print materials, websites and books for non-profits, small to mid-size socially responsible businesses and book publishers. She is an active member of the National Association for Women Business Owners, San Francisco Chapter and Adidam. Leslie has a BA in design from Antioch College and has put in many years of graphic design experience since her career was blessed by her Spiritual Master, Adi Da Samraj. She has 3 grown children, and is the delighted grandparent of Jacob and Violet.

Kelly, our Copywriter, helps growing companies translate complex concepts into clear, accessible stories. Smart people often get stuck when called to translate their expertise into benefits. Kelly uses a patented, non-invasive procedure to climb inside their brains, extract everything they ever wanted to say about their services, and translate it all into copy that sings. Specializing in healthcare and clean tech, Kelly has written for Merlin Securities, Savantis Group, 3 Phases Climate Solutions, and AlphaDetail.

An experienced Marketing Writer and Publicist, Mary Claire consistently offers creative solutions to a broad range of communication challenges – whether she’s collaborating with senior executives at Charles Schwab on keynote speeches, ghostwriting health columns for physicians, or publicizing a one-person bookkeeping service. Her by-lined articles have appeared in major newspapers like the Washington Post, and she co-authored two nonfiction books, including Divorce & Money, a top-seller for Nolo.com. Mary Claire brings a reporter’s skills to her public relations work for a variety of small and mid-size organizations. And she has applied her editor’s pen to annual reports for the National Economic Development & Law Center, as well as the newsletter of the National Brain Tumor Foundation. As a publicist, she has successfully pitched stories to radio and television producers, and booked talent on highly-rated talk shows.

Kari, our Copyeditor, has been writing professionally for over 12 years. Kari has worked in an assortment of industries: retail, software, financial services, utilities, hardware, banking, insurance, and many more.

Kim, our Web Developer, has over 10 years of website development experience. She focuses on turning design concepts into functional, accessible, standards-based websites. Her services have been used by a variety of clients in various industries, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies such as Apple and Yahoo!.

Keith, our Web Developer, develops fast, stable and easy to use Content Management Systems. Through Peridot, Keith provides end to end web presence solutions including management of complex e-commerce solutions, ongoing site maintenance, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and web hosting.

Ken, our Web Developer, has over 5 years of web development experience, and over 15 years of computer programming and software quality assurance - working for companies such as Apple and Lucent Technologies. Specializing in dynamic, database-driven, interactive websites, Ken has developed websites with features such as user registration/ login, secure member pages, membership fees via e-commerce, member profiles and profile searches, blogs, discussion boards, mailing lists, newsletters, photo uploads, instant messaging, MP3 audio and streaming video.

Dean, our Blog Consultant, instructs and guides business blogs for individual business owners up to the large corporate level. His instruction includes coaching, workshop, and seminar speaking. Dean is a San Francisco native and a San Francisco State University graduate with a B.A. in Speech Communications. He has been involved in five diverse industries: fashion, mortgage, credit information database consulting, enterprise software licensing, and real estate consulting.

Laine, our Copywriter, best known for his clever headlines, has spent the last 15 years working in various channels of public relations, advertising and broadcasting; penning everything from press releases, to concept-driven copy, to narrative on-air scripts. With a trademark style that spans comedy to corporate, Laine thrives on generating clear, concise and creative messages that cut to the heart of any business strategy in any business environment. Specializing in entertainment and all types of consumer products/brands, Laine credits his ability to write on his ability to observe, listen and understand.

Robert, our Brand Strategist and Brand-Focused Coach, works with businesses that sell complex, high dollar value products and services to leverage the power of their brand. Through him, clients can expect more effective marketing materials and sales conversations, clarity of vision for management teams about their business's real value, and greater alignment among all key stakeholders. Robert has worked in brand management for Kraft, Nestle and ConAgra and was in advertising account management at DMB&B in New York City, where he served clients such as Richardson-Vicks (P&G), Mars Pet Food, Burger King and A&P Supermarkets.

John, our Marketing and Technical Writer, Analyst and Non-Profit Fundraiser and Grantwriter, has worked in business communications development for over 10 years. He started his long career as a writer and manager as a journalist in the San Francisco Bay Area where he rose to the rank of Managing Editor of what is now the SF Weekly. He then moved into the technology arena as a multimedia writer/producer developing training and marketing productions for Fortune 1000 clients at a multimedia start-up. John has worked with numerous large and mid-sized corporations ranging from AT&T to EBay and Seventh Generation to consult on and produce communications and training across the breadth of media from print to the web. Additionally, John has entered into the world of non-profit development applying his skills to fundraising and grant writing for public health and arts organizations.

Laura's areas of expertise include Marketing Strategy and Planning, Messaging and Positioning, Launch Planning and Management, Campaign Planning and Management, in both online and offline marketing. She is a dynamic speaker and author of the upcoming book, "Be Hear (otherwise, what's the point?)," due in September 2007. Laura has worked at Hewlett Packard as the Director of Worldwide Consumer Marketing Communications where she was responsible for planning and implementing integrating marketing campaigns across all HP consumer product lines. During her time at HP, she held key marketing roles in enterprise, small-to-medium business and consumer customer segments as well as in the Server, PC and consumer product groups. Early in her career, Laura spent several years at Intel Corporation where was on the start-up team that developed and implemented the Intel Inside branding program.
